# Datasets — the Texas tank record, joined

> The 29,830 LPST cases and 43,273 tanks as one dataset, joined on the facility number. Fields, measured fill rates, published prices.

## Datasets

The pages of this site are free and will stay free — a public fact belongs to nobody. What is sold is the work of compiling it.

The pages of this site are free and will stay free : **an official fact belongs to no one**. What is sold here is the compilation work — extracting the Texas tank record, reconciling it, dating it, and delivering it in a usable form.

### Why the stream, not the snapshot

The Commission updates the leak file **daily**. Cases open,
cases close, and a closure is exactly the event a portfolio holder wants to
hear about. A snapshot taken today is a photograph of a file that moves every
morning; the difference between two days is what has value.

### What is in it

Every field below is measured on the delivered rows. A ⚠️ marks a column
the source does not contain — that is what you cannot get by
downloading the two files yourself.

*Fields delivered and fill rate, measured on the rows actually delivered — not estimated*

| Field | Description | Filled |
|---|---|---|
| `lpst_id` | The case number, unique across the register | 100.0 % |
| `facility` | TCEQ facility number, where the case has one | 81.0 % |
| `rn` | TCEQ regulated entity number | 88.0 % |
| `site_name` | ⚠️ Site name, case-normalised from the source's capitals | 96.0 % |
| `county` | ⚠️ County, case-normalised | 100.0 % |
| `reported` | ⚠️ ISO date, normalised from the source timestamp | 99.9 % |
| `closed` | ⚠️ ISO date where a closure exists | 96.4 % |
| `open` | ⚠️ 1 where no closure date exists — the field everything turns on | 100.0 % |
| `has_tanks` | ⚠️ ⚠️ 1 where the site still has registered tanks — computed by joining the two files on facility number and RN | 100.0 % |
| `tank_key` | ⚠️ facility + tank number: 43,273 physical tanks grouped from 69,143 source rows | 100.0 % |
| `products` | ⚠️ The set of products a tank holds, joined from its compartment rows | 91.1 % |

The 8 fields marked ⚠️ **do not exist in the source** : we add them — a join, a normalisation, or a reconstructed history. That is the part a buyer cannot reproduce by downloading the official file.

⚠️ The **owner’s name** is in the source and
is delivered in the dataset, but appears on no page of this site: it is a
natural person’s name in a fair number of cases.
**Coordinates** are not carried at all — this answers a
question about records, not a map.

### What it costs

- **Change feed — USD 300 / month**Or USD 3 000 a year. At every collection, what came in, went out or changed since the previous one. This is the part that does not age.
- **One slice — USD 90 / month**The feed restricted to a single county, for those who do not need the rest.
- **Full snapshot — USD 4 000, once**The state of the register on the day of delivery, every field included. Listed last on purpose : a snapshot ages.

**Not a consumer reporting agency.** This site
and the datasets sold from it are **not** consumer reports under
the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and must not be used to decide anyone's
eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing, or any other purpose
covered by the FCRA. If you need a background check, use a screening company
that operates as a consumer reporting agency.

### Order

Tell us what you need : we reply with a sample, the field dictionary, and an invoice. **No payment is taken on this site** — an order opens a conversation.

Prices in USD, before any applicable tax. Delivered as CSV and Parquet, by download link. Every request is answered by hand.

Screening your own list instead of buying the set? That is [Pro access](/pro.md), priced on volume.
